This Megatron was fully penciled -- and done completely from memory, I might add -- when I abandoned it and started the first portrait I posted to Deviantart.

I showed this to my best mate at the same time I showed him the half-finished inking on the other Megatron. He liked this one better -- it invoked the character better for him and was more interesting, what with the hand and all.

And the hand is the problem, really. The reason I abandoned this drawing in the first place is that I chose to do these portraits to get away from drawing hands. Let me tell you, inking that hand was not enjoyable -- it was not meant to be part of the process. I'd just needed it in there to 'finish' the composition on the original sketch.

Which is why I stopped drawing it.

But the finished product turned out fairly well I think -- despite my reservations. Incidentally it's not that I can't draw hands.. it's that I can, and often do. I spend WAY too much time on them. I wanted to concentrate on faces with these portraits.
